Yi-Wen CHIEN

Born in 1999, from Kaohsiung, currently living in New Taipei City.

Engaged in design work, occasionally working with ceramics. Creativity stems from personal emotional exploration, interested in something that can be keenly felt but are difficult to articulate in words, and endeavors to record these processes or states. Uses abstract objects or visual graphics for expression, attempting to depict the patterns of inner feeling in physical space through textures, grains, images, and other means, providing insights into the interconnectedness between emotion, space, and material through artworks.

When people experience pain or trauma, they consciously control themselves not to dwell on it, avoiding revisiting the pain or trauma. Alternatively, they may subconsciously bury negative emotions and feelings deep in their subconscious. "When emotions mingle" utilizes the repetitive squeezing of clay and the traces of mud to depict the release and settling of emotions, presenting objects laden with emotions in an attempt to create a space for detachment where one can immerse oneself in sadness, sorrow, or any emotion.
